Detailing Products
We believe in customers making educated decisions and understanding the differences between dizzying array of detailing products and procedures available on the market. In this section we want to explain the differences between a wax, a sealant, a coating, what detail spray is for, and so on.
Waxes vs Sealants vs Coatings
What are these, and why do they matter? Which one is right for me? Read on below to find out!
Waxes
Waxes are typically based on carnauba and are great for adding additional temporary shine. They add a small layer of protection, but do not stand up to hot sun or any abrasion forces. They are meant to enhance the shine on a paint finish. Waxes are great for stacking or layering on top of sealants or coatings for extra shine just before a fun drive or car meet.
Sealants
Sealants are typically polymer based. Because of this this will last longer and stand up to everyday abrasions such a driving and washing your vehicle better than a standard wax will. They will also last longer in hot or cold conditions. A high quality sealant like AMMO Skin will last upwards of 6 months between applications with proper maintenance.
Coatings
Coatings take all the benefits of sealants and waxes but turn the awesome dial up to 11. They enhance the shine and finish of the paint to almost unbelievable levels while adding tremendous protection. With proper maintenance a coating can remain on a vehicle for several years. Coatings are excellent when applied properly.

Foam Canon
Foam canons are great for getting the most out of your soap. They produce lots of suds which help lift dirt and prevent scratching. We show the most effective way to use these in our washing and detailing classes. You can purchase one direction from Adam’s.

Buckets & Grit Guard
We use three of these buckets. One for wheels, and two for paint. These buckets can be bought with the pictured grit guards. The grit guards help keep the wash mitt from picking up the settled dirt on the bottom of the bucket. We teach the proper 2 and 3 bucket methods in our washing and detailing classes. Soft Wash Mitt
We use all lambs wool wash mitts on all the vehicles we wash.You’ll want to make sure you have a few on hand. If one is dropped, you will want to put it aside until you can give it a proper washing. Additionally you’ll want to have dedicated mitts for wheels and paint washing. You can purchase the one we recommend directly from Adam’s.

High Quality Microfiber Towels
High quality towels are a must have. They will help keep you from scratching your paint and they will last a long time with proper care. We use towels exclusively from Adam’s Polishes. This is a great package for just getting started.

Having great quality chemicals makes getting great results that much easier. We use a couple different brands. We recommend sticking with a set of chemicals as they are often designed to work together. We regularly use Adam’s Polishes, Ammo NYC, and a couple others.
